Kazakhstan is a Central Asian country that offers various scholarship opportunities for international students who wish to pursue higher education in its universities. Have an international certificate confirming their language skills in English, German or French (if applicable).

The Kazakhstan scholarship is available for applicants from all countries, including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of Kazakhstan. 

Application Process

The application process for the Kazakhstan scholarship is online and free of charge. Applicants can submit their documents. including:

  • An application form in Kazakh, Russian or English languages.
  • A copy of the identification document.
  • A copy of the document on the previous level of education (with transcript) with a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian or English languages.
  • A motivational essay in Kazakh, Russian or English languages.
  • A letter of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian or English languages from the educational organization in which they studied or from their employer.

Scholarship Allocations

The scholarship allocations are based on the quota assigned by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The quota for the academic year 2021-2022 is as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree program – 490
  • Master’s degree program – 50
  • Ph.D. degree program – 10
    The scholarships are distributed among different fields of study according to the priority areas of development of Kazakhstan.

How to apply for a scholarship in Kazakhstan?

To apply for a scholarship in Kazakhstan, you need to follow these steps:

  • Visit the website of the National Center for Higher Education Development and click on the scholarship program for studying in Kazakhstani universities.
  • Submit your documents online by clicking the option of submission of documents. The documents include a copy of an identification document, a copy of the document on the previous level of education (with transcript), a motivational essay, a letter of recommendation, a medical certificate, an invitation letter from a Kazakhstan university (if available), a research proposal for Ph.D. programs (if applicable), and an international certificate confirming your language skills (if applicable).
